So I went to Vitamin Shoppe today…

So I went to Vitamin Shoppe today looking for some extra virgin coconut oil (for my international readers, Vitamin Shoppe is a health food chain here in the US). After wading through all the supplement crap and picking up the super expensive coconut oil, I wait at the checkout counter where I see a 30 something visibly obese “Health Representative” helping a 40 something fat female.

Obese Health Representative: This fat burner works really well! It also doesn’t make me feel jittery like the others.

Fat lady: Oh that’s great! Then I guess it is worth the $40.

Obese Health Representative: Totally. Your total is $72.

Fat lady: Sure. And oh can you please tell me when and how to take this fat burner?

Obese Health Representative: Sure! Take one pill blah blah (literally reads from behind the box!)

Fat lady: Great! So should I take one now or can I wait till tomorrow morning?

Obese Health Representative: Oh are you going to the gym now?

Fat lady: Ummm… no way! I have a giant burrito to finish first!

As much as this made me want to run around the store breaking everything in sight, I realized something – I have job security for life!

For those of you who are not on fat burners, check out for an awesome Beetroot Butter Chicken recipe!

Peace out!

Hi Raj, I have been reading your very interesting website for a month now. Your enthusiasm for ‘real food’ is contagious! Even though I eat quite a healthy diet consisting mainly of home cooked food north Indian style, I have now cut back on dals and grain and it feels really good! Keep up this great website with it’s plethora of information. It is sad how advertising has completely changed our lifestyle and we have become slaves to big pharmaceutical and agribusiness companies! Instead of getting to know our bodies people have become accustomed to popping a pill for every little pain or discomfort they feel! And, those ‘health food’ stores, a complete rip off!

What about the coconut oil from Indian Stores? Are they legit?

So what is your point besides proving you can insult people based on their appearance? You offer no actual info on either fat burners or coconut oil. In fact this post actually reveals hostility and a lack of self-control as well as hubris. Absolutely detrimental qualities in any person purporting to be a health advocate. It’s the equivalent of a philandering, thieving minister. Hypocrite.

I’ll let you read the rest of the blog and get back to me. If that’s too much work for you, you’re welcome to never visit this blog again. Thanks much!
