Planned on doing a conditioning workout at the gym today… but just when I was about to leave I saw this picture of Calvin. Couldn’t resist… had to see him! So drove straight to Vidya’s house. The only equipment available was a pair of dumbbells and so I came up with this workout on the fly…
200 m Run, 30 Pushups
200 m Run, 30 Bodyweight Squats
200 m Run, 15 Jump Squats
200 m Run, 15 Clapping Pushups
200 m Run, 15 Right Hand Dumbbell Snatches (30 lbs)
200 m Run, 15 Left Hand Dumbbell Snatches (30 lbs)
200 m Run, 15 Dumbbell Swings (30 lbs)
200 m Run, 15 Burpees
Boy did I suffer! Today was my first metabolic conditioning workout in 1.5 months (I’ve been on a mass gain program for the last 6 weeks). Though I made pretty awesome strength gains… my endurance sucks ass right now.
I did survive and completed the workout in 17:50. Super sucky timing! Two months back I would’ve smoked this workout in 14:00! Anyways now that I’m back to training for endurance too I’m pretty sure I’ll get to the 14-mark within a month or so.
And yea… I made Vidya do a similar workout too…
400 m Run, 25 Bodyweight Squats
400 m Run, 25 Knee Pushups
400 m Run, 25 Dumbbell Swings (25 lbs)
400 m Run, 25 Burpees
She killed the workout in 19:10. She could’ve done it much quicker if she worked on her running often enough 😉
